Description:     Reporting to the AFL Queensland Development Manager – Brisbane North the Club Coordinator will be responsible for providing advice and direction, education & training and development of resources to assist volunteers within the AFL clubs.

Example of key responsibilities include:

Governance: Support the preparation and development of Strategic Plans for the League and all clubs. Ensure the League and all Clubs comply with the annual requirements of the Office of Fair Trading relating to Incorporation

Education & Training: Identify the training needs of the League and club volunteers with a particular emphasis on the administrative operations of each organisation, Facilitate the delivery and implementation of the AFL Quality Club Program and other AFL Community Programs, to clubs throughout the region.

Grants/Funding/Fundraising: Ensure clubs are kept informed of the funding programs and opportunities available via local, state and federal government and other corporate opportunities , Support clubs with preparation of a wide range of funding submissions.

Resources: Develop a sponsorship template that can be used by all organisations to pursue corporate sponsorship, Attend club committee meeting and AFL Queensland and club meetings as required, Assist at Regional affiliates functions/events as required.

Participation: Develop strategies to maximise transition from Auskick and school programs participation to Community Clubs, Liaise with the regional development staff in the provision of linkage transition from AFL Auskick and Schools programs into Junior club football.

We are seeking a self motivated individual with:
·     Well developed verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
·     Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised
·     Qualifications in Sports Management or equivalent depth of experience
·     Due to the nature of the sporting industry must be willing to work outside normal business hours from time to time such as evenings and weekends
·     Queensland Driver’s License
·     Experience working with volunteers
·     Experience in sourcing funding from government and non-government sources or ability to quickly acquire knowledge
·     Experience in developing or demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning
·     Satisfactor ‘Working With Children’ check (Blue Card) from Queensland State government or ability to obtain
