On Sunday, the Ipswich Jets hosted the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles at North Ipswich Reserve with some mixed results achieved. The day started well for the hosting club with the Colts recording a solid win, beating Sunshine Coast's Colts 24-20. Eric Alefosio scored half of the Jets points in what was a morale boosting win, now placing the side within a win of second place. In the FOGS A-Grade game the Jets were downed 22-4 by a much superior Sunshine Coast outift, leaving the Jets languishing near the bottom of the table. From there things didn't get any better for the home club with Jets also losing the main game (Q-Cup) against the Sea Eagles by a try 28-24. Crucial mistakes again cost the Jets with what could have been an invaluable win and a reprieve from bottom place on the table. Next Saturday (22/05) afternoon the Jets host the Mackay Cutters in what will be an important encounter as all three grades will be in search of much needed wins.
