This position is supported by the
Department of Communities, Sport and Recreation Services through the Local
Sport and Recreation Jobs Plan Program.

healthy and socially inclusive communities by supporting volunteers’ roles in
the development and delivery of sport and recreation

Facilitate
more collaborative and inclusive approaches in local communities so that
opportunities are available for all Queenslanders to be active

Encourage
sustainability of local sport and recreation organisations through local,
tailored support that builds the capacity of volunteers to manage organisations
more effectively and efficiently.
The role of the Jobs Plan Officer
will be to:

Meet
with the cluster clubs on a regular basis (this may mean evening work)
·
Provide
advice to the clubs on governance and management of their organisation
·
Develop
the clubs volunteer base to build ongoing skills and knowledge within the
cluster clubs
·
Support
clubs with sourcing information on grant opportunities, sponsorship,
fundraising and corporate partnerships for sport and recreation activities
·
Develop
with the club marketing and promotional activities to create greater community
engagement and making people aware of their local sport and recreation
activities and events to be involved in
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
·
Sport
and recreation industry knowledge or qualification with an ability to gain
relevant knowledge to provide high quality support and advice to the cluster
and the organisation as a whole
·
Ability
to communicate with a wide cross section of people, community organisations and
relevant government bodies
·
Be
self-motivated and able to identify organisational priorities to best meet
needs of the clubs
·
Have
the ability to identify local trends to help clubs provide sport and recreation
activities in their local community
·
Help
the clubs to develop local opportunities to create membership growth
