Title - Northern and Pacific Talent ID Officer

The Brisbane Lions A.F.C, has a new vision driving the club to 2016, a key element of which is increasing the local talent on the Lions AFL playing list. Following an organisational restructure, we have a brand new vacancy for a talented and dedicated Northern and Pacific Talent ID Officer to become a valuable and integral part of achieving this goal.
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Brisbane Lions Academy Manager, you will be directly responsible for identifying high potential AFL talent in Queensland, the Northern Territory and the Pacific Region across both the junior and senior age groups.
A key result area of this role is to build the profile of the Brisbane Lions Academy throughout these regions through conducting “Rookie Search” combines, with the end result being a strong database of high potential AFL talent within the Brisbane Lions Academy Zone.
It is expected that the incumbent builds a network of Academy advocates and supporters who assist in identifying talent. Using your knowledge of AFL, you will also be required to provide coaching support to the Lions Academy Head Coach and Regional Coaches as required.
The ideal candidate will have previously been exposed to athlete identification/development over several years, and have worked within an elite sporting talent pathway. You must be flexible in terms of your hours as regular travel is involved with this role.
You must be willing and able to work independently, be self-motivated, personable and have a proven track record of the ability to successfully build networks to achieve desired results.
Tertiary qualifications in Human Movement or similar is advantageous, as is demonstrable experience in participation programs. Good IT skills (Mac) are necessary.
